Christmas in the Country

Another great fall weekend!

We have been visiting these cottages as a group of families for years, and they never fail to disappoint. The weather is wonderful in September, the amenties are great, and the hosts make improvements/upgrades every year it seems! Lots to do for the kids and the grownups. Very easy to get between cottages, too, for larger groups. We will be back again in 2025. Fully recommend!

Great cottage get away!

I have stayed at the Flower Moon cottage twice now and my family and I have had a memorable time both times. The hosts are responsive, helpful and professional. The cottage is very well equipped for your full enjoyment with enough beds, living space, games, fire pit with plenty of wood, and boats just to mention a few. If your looking for a get away from the city at a cottage by the water I highly recommend this place.

Exquisite lake, well-equipped cottages

Our family has visited many times and each visit is special. The lake is beautiful and the cottages are well-equipped with quality, comfortable furnishings, beddings, linens and decorative touches. Gracefield is a short trip for groceries and the SAQ, and the chocolatier is always a favourite stop.

We had a fantastic time. My husband and I went kayaking; it was a fun adventure. Enjoying the scenery.

My nieces came up and learned how to make a fire in the pit. They loved finding frogs and fish, we spent the entire time at the water.
We made many memories and learned new skills.

We spent our annual get-together at Flower Moon Cottage, the place was amazing. The owners didn’t leave anything missing, everything we needed for the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms were all well stocked. Beautiful surrounding, very private and quiet. Lovely lake with clean waters.

Un séjour très apprécié de tous!

Nous sommes allés au chalet Flower Moon du 21 au 24 juillet 2023. Nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés. Le lac était paisible. Nous avons fait du canot, du paddle bord et nous avons bien aimé le grand matelas flottant au bord du quai. L’intérieur est confortable et bien équipé tant au niveau cuisine qu’au niveau des films et jeux de société. Je vous le recommande !

Wonderful Winter Wonderland.

We can’t express how magical it has been staying on this lake and in the cottages. We have done it 2 years in a row now in the middle of the winter and it has been a great experience.

Lots of wood for both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, an ice rink right on the lake and lots of toboggan runs.

Total serenity!

I spent a week at the moonshadow retreat and it totally exceeded my expectations. The surrounding lake and forest are so peaceful and quiet I barely heard a noise the whole time! The large wood burning fireplace was really romantic and kept us warm and cozy the whole time. They have lots of great dvd’s and satellite tv and there are several stores close by where we were able to pick up local tortiere, sausages and baked beans which were all soooo good! The beds were super comfy and I slept amazing. Finally the hot tub is not to be missed and right at the bottom of the front entrance could be enjoyed all winter long and easily fits several adults. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway this place can’t be beat! I can’t wait to go back in the warmer months but highly recommend even in the colder months!

The Perfect Getaway

We spent our Thanksgiving weekend at the Flower Moon cottage and had such a great time. The cottage was perfect for our small family and could easily accommodate a larger group. The lake was calm and beautiful surrounded with the autumn leaves in the landscape. The cottage was very well equipped and extremely clean. We enjoyed the hot tub to warm up while the campfire burned in the background. This is a great place to relax and unwind from the fast paced city life. We would recommend to anyone looking to get away for the weekend or longer. Thank you for everything!

Coming back again and again!

This was our third year staying at HarvestMoon and FlowerMoon cottages, as a group of friends and our kids. It’s a wonderful weekend we spend together each fall, enjoying the foliage, campfires and hot tub, as well as exploring the lake. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful cottage with us, it was beyond our expectations. The cottage is very well equipped. The kitchen was just like at home, absolutely everything you could possibly need. Plenty of towels and linen, the washer and dyer was also a bonus. The hot tub was a plus for sure. We were 7 adults and there was plenty of rooms for everyone. Simone was extremely accommodating and responsive with clear directions and expectations which made for a very easy check in and check out. We were looking for a private and quiet spot to enjoy a few days away from the city and this was the perfect place. We will be recommending your cottage to our family and friends, and we will definitely be back.

Great opportunity

We are from Montreal and had a wedding ceremony 5 minutes from Moon shadow. The place was greatly appreciated for our situation. The cottage was fantastic and kept us off the road in the middle of the night. The children took the opportunity to run and have fun on the large grounds and we relaxed while we were there. A huge thank you to the owners for making us discover this place, we plan to come back for a real vacation !!

We spent our second Labour Day weekend at the Harvest Moon cottage this year and again had a great time. The lake was even warmer this time and the view in the morning is fantastic. Beauty and Serenity

Harvest Moon is more than a cottage, it is a home. From the moment that I set foot in this impeccably clean and well equipped cottage, I felt welcomed. The owners are so thoughtful that they even provide basic supply in the kitchen to cook and enjoy a good coffee or tea. The view is so serene and peaceful that one never stops from admiring it. The lake is so inviting that I could not resist going several times a day, even thought there are quite a few steps to reach the dock.
I definitely recommend it.

I dont really leave reviews , but I was so impressed with this cottage. This weekend I had a chance to stay at the blue moon cottage and Wow ! The inside was clean and had everything you need. The bathroom look like a spa and the patio looking over the view was amazing ! My toddler had an amazing time playing in the water . My family and I will be back in the future !! ?.

Blue moon bliss at the Flower moon

Loved looking at the moon shadows on the lake, fallen leaves, and crackling fire – couldn’t have been more peaceful! A little slice of Heaven

I spend 10 stunning days up and Dan and Simone’s stunning chalet.
From start to finish the stress just melted away, the views, serenity peacefulness, all of it was simply marvelous.
The view of the island never gets old and I loved exploring in the canoe and then warming up in the hot tub after takin a polar bear dip.
You want for nothing in this fully equipped home and the fireplace caps it all off.
Thank you for letting me experience this little slice of paradise.

Peaceful and beautiful retreat at Flower moon

Thank you so much Simone and Dan for letting us stay at your amazing cottage. We had an amazing time from the moment we arrived. The children didn’t want to leave. It was wonderful to have the paddleboards and kayaks to explore the lake. In the evenings we took full advantage of the vast array of board games and dvds included with the property. We really enjoyed the hot tub too.

Harvestmoon Cottage – beautiful end of August

We spent a wonderful and relaxing weekend the Harvest Moon Cottage just before the start of school. The Northfield lake is a small spring-fed lake with a little island in the middle. The Kayak, canu, paddle boat and board were in use every day. The hot tub was easy to use and definitely one was the favourite features. We were surprised how well the kitchen was equipped in terms of tools and dishes. If you are missing something, you can just drive to Gracefield close by where you find everything in the local Metro.

This was our first time renting a cottage and we are definitely going to do so again.

Simone and Dan provide a fully equipped cottage from linens to a fantastic BBQ. This cottage has everything! We will be back and would recommend Harvest Moon. It does have a lot of stairs, a consideration for any elderly and really young family members.

Wonderful time at the cottage

Regardless of difficult time, Covid-19, we had more than an amazing time at your cottage. We were hesitant at the beginning and little bit worry how all this will work due Covid19 for 6 adults and a baby. We were prepare to snitized the entire cottage by self. When we arrived, everything was spotless. Everything was so clean and so neat. Simone and Dan you definitely just dor that get huge credit.
The cottage by self is fantastic. Had more than we needed, starting from kitchen, rooms, bathrooms, kayak, pedal board, pedal boat, jacuzzi… you name it.
What really impressed us is how you decorate cottage. We love all details in your cottage. Great job!! Also want to mentioned a beautiful and quiet lake with amazing nature around.
We all enjoyed staying there so much.
Definitely recommending this cottage and definitely considering to come back.

Harvest Moon Cottage

Thanks to the owners for the care and attention given to the inside of the cottage and the outside. Everything you could possibly need is supplied. The place was very cleaned and organized. We were a family of 12 from the grand mother to the grand kids and we all enjoyed our week. The lake is safe for the kids for swimming, paddling and kayaking. Hot tub, fire pits were used every day. I never saw a cottage that well supplied we didn’t run out of anything. The owner Simone is very responsive if questions arise. The place was peaceful, relaxing and private.

Relaxing and fun

We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. We had an amazing time at Harvest Moon Cottage late June 22-25.
The cottage was super clean and very well equipped. Almost anything everything you’ll need is available or you run short of. Extra propane bottles and toiletries. There’s sooo much to do with the kids. . Water activities or just explore the nature. Will be returning soon !!

A wonderful fall getaway

We’ve been to these cottages two years in a row, and plan to make it a yearly retreat. The foliage is beautiful, the hot tubs are perfect for the cool weather, and some brave souls in our group even jump in the lake! Clean, well stocked, beautifully decorated and works well for our group of friends and their kids.

Dan and Simone thought of everything and the facilities were great. We also found some gems in Gracefield and went to L’huile D’olive twice for lunch, a fantastic treasure about half an hour away. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful lake and well-equipped chalet!

We fully enjoyed the two weeks we spent at the Harvest Moon Cottage last August. The lake was beautiful and perfect for swimming, paddling, kayaking, or just relaxing on the dock. The view was different every day or hour. The cottage is well-equipped, and the owner Simone very responsive if questions arise. Groceries are only a 10-minute drive. We’ll be happy to come back.

Peaceful vacation

It was our third time at the flower moon and harvest moon cottages and once again it was a lovely, peaceful stay. We always enjoy the views from the decks, the quiet lake and the comfortable, well-equipped cottage.

Great Stay Again!

This is the second year in a row we have stayed a Moon Flower and it was, again, a WONDERFUL experience! Simone is so prompt and helpful with any questions and the house is as lovely as I remembered it. Great fishing and water activities are always a plus, and the hot tub was great even in July. My husband and I will be booking again next year!

Picturesque and serene

The cottage is wonderful. Very well laid out with all the amenities. Very comfortable with gorgeous views of the lake. The location is fantastic, not too far from Ottawa, near enough to a town but yet feels secluded. The lake itself is crystal clear and lots of local wildlife abounded. We were there for a weekend in early June and will definitely be back!

Harvest Moon

We had our cousins reunion this past weekend (Feb. 22 – 23, 2019) and we were very impressed with the cottage. It was very clean and had everything we needed. it was also very close to the town of Gracefield. We are hoping to go back again next winter.

Best way to start the year

We had a wonderful stay, we were 12 adults from ages 19 to 83. We spent the New Year holiday at the cottage, the whole family. The spa was great and clean.
There was plenty of everything for all of us (toilet paper, scott towels, dishes, bed sheets, towels for the spa, and shower. We all slept comfortably. The scenery is absolutely peaceful and magical in winter. The lake was frozen for ice scating, or cross country skiing. I would definitely recommend for a family gathering.

A weekend away

A great weekend away! The living space was great with a fireplace in between the living and dining, great for a nice and cozy winter weekend. Hot tub was great and the ample amount of beds/bedrooms was a great plus! The owners responded quickly and were very friendly. Would definitely return!

Beautiful location for a fall get away

These two cottages were perfect for our group of friends and their kids. We had a wonderful October visit with each other and had so many thoughtful amenities that made the stay stress free.

Peace and Quiet

We had a great week at the cottage. The lake is small/big enough to explore on a canoe, kayak or SUP (all of which are provided!!) Water is really clear and we did some snorkeling around the island. The island is fantastic if you want to explore or have kids who want a little adventure. The fishing was incredible. I think most people do catch and release so some of the bass were huge! There are some trails for walking off of the road in, just don’t go during deer season!? It was the last week of the summer so I think the Quebec schools were back in session which might explain why it was so quiet on the lake but really there aren’t that many other cottages so its pretty peaceful most of the time. The hot tub was a life saver as we had some bad weather but were still able to go for a swim and warm up in the tub. The lake isn’t great for walking into but I haven’t found a lake in the area that is so this is pretty normal. The dock goes out past the weeds and is perfect for jumping into the lake and swimming.

The cottage is really well equipped with most anything you need. Lots of non perishable staples in the cupboard so if you forget salt or sugar they probably have it. Lots of extra propane, toilet paper and water so you won’t run out! The living room is a little small and we only noticed because of the weather. Dining room table is great for cards and board games. There’s lots of beds so your kids can bring a friend! Lots of sheets and towels which is nice to not have to bring.

All in all we had a great time!

A wonderful family holiday.

A well appointed cottage on a clean, fresh water lake. The view in the evening with the sun behind the cottage lighting up the green mountains on the opposite side of the lake was especially attractive. The kids spent most of the day in the water both swimming and using the water craft provided – a kayak, paddle boat, canoe, and paddle board. The evening marsh mellow roasts over the fire pit located on the waterfront were a special moment for all.
My thanks to the owners for the care and attention given to the inside and the outside of the this lovely retreat.

PEACEFUL AND RELAXING

Amazing! This was truly one of the BEST vacations I have had in a long time. House tastefully decorated and clean with a view of the lake. Easy check-in and check-out, a plus! Simone responded quickly to all inquiries prior to and after booking! Upon arriving, quickly surveyed house for necessities during our visit, but found most were supplied such as toilet paper, paper towels, condiments, etc. as well as towels and bed linens. Fishing was FANTASTIC! TV had limited stations, but plenty of movies available (although we only watched 1 since we were so busy outside in the beautiful surroundings!) Fished everyday and had firepit burning every night with an abundance of wood! Hot tub was fantastic addition! Loved canoeing around the lake as well (canoe was provided!) There is also a paddle boat and stand up paddle board. It was 59 steps from house to pier, but not bad unless you have a health condition which limits mobility. Didn’t bother us and absolutely LOVED our stay! There is also a fire pit up by the house which we used the first night, but used the fire pit by the lake/pier every night afterwards for the beautiful view. Can’t wait to return next year! Thank you Simone for opening your beautiful home to us!

Fantastic weekend

We had a fantastic time at the Harvest Moon cottage. There were three adults and three children 6 years and under. The cottage had EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Kitchen cupboards full of every utensil, glasses, pots, pans. Fridge and cupboards with all the little things you might have forgotten e.g. mustard, mayonnaise, sugar, tea… The deck overlooks the lake and is the perfect place to have dinner using the large BBQ, or breakfast in the morning sun. We swam and canoed out to the little island numerous times. Lots of fish were caught and released. The downstairs bedrooms had plenty of space and were cool which is great to have in the hotter weather. The whole experience reminded me of my own childhood cottage and I am so glad I was able to introduce my son to a cottage weekend. The kids literally ran around in a gaggle of excitement the whole weekend. THIS is how to get your little ones active and enjoying the outdoors. Thank you Dan and Simone. We would love to return next year!

One of the best experiences I have had

I have to admit this was one of the best experiences I have had. Amazing cottage and its very well stocked with almost everything that you have never thought of. The place was clean and organized. The lake was stunning at night and its amazing for fishing and canoeing. I would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. I am definitely going back.

What a wonderful place to spend some time with your loved ones and friends

The cottage is unlike any other cottage my friends and I have stayed at. The location is hidden in a quiet area on a beautiful, clean and peaceful lake. The cottage itself is spacious, clean and cozy. The owners are very thoughtful and have stocked the cottage with everything from kitchen to lake supplies! They truly want you to enjoy yourselves. We were short on some towels for our large group on our first night, and they came the next day to provide us with extra towels! There are plenty of beds, and a large living room for everyone to hang out in. All in all, a great and superb place to spend a summer day on the water, and at night by the fire. Highly Recommended!

Couldn’t ask for better!!!

Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed our vacation there. Great cottage, very clean, very spacious and it’s a quiet place to relax because there’s no traffic around the cottage and not many boats on the lake. I would recommend this place to anyone, anytime! And the owners were very cooperative whenever we had some questions or there was some issues. Couldn’t ask for better!!!

Most perfect condition

The cottage was in the up most perfect condition. When booking, I wasn’t really expecting to be blown away, but i was. The kitchen was well stocked with all the items that I overlooked when planning.

Relaxing, peaceful getaway

My husband and and I spent a weekend at the Flower Moon cottage with our friends (another couple). The cottage was located in a beautiful spot, overlooking the lake. It was minus 20 outside, but the heating system and wood burning fireplace kept us warm and cozy. The cottage was clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed – including all the kitchen essentials. The living room was a great spot for relaxing in front of the fire. The bedroom we slept in was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. We went snowshoeing right from the cottage, following deer trails into the woods. I highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing, peaceful getaway, where you can be as active as you want to be. I would definitely go back.

Can’t wait to go back

We had a party of 8 and we stayed at the Moon shadow for a week and it was simply amazing. Keep in mind we are not novice(s) for Cottage outings and this was our 6th Rental. One of the best Cottages I have ever stayed and its just so lovely to deal with Simone 🙂 The amenities and location was great. The lake was mesmerizing and the fishing was great too! We left feeling rejuvenated

We voted this bit of paradise a 10 out of 10! The accommodations were exquisite and not a detail was missed. Plenty to do for both kids and adults, including board games, video games, water vessels and toys, and even a massage chair that loosened the pent up stress in our tired bodies. We left feeling rejuvenated! The lake is fresh and clean and the moon and stars reflect magically off it – a great view from the sprawling deck looking over the lake. I believe this is a place that will be difficult to reserve as the word spreads – I cannot imagine a more perfect place for a cottage getaway. I am looking forward to going back!

Calm and serene haven

Came over from the UK and spent two wonderful weeks in a calm and serene haven. Great fishing, bird-watching and star gazing.
The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and cozy – it put a whole new meaning to, ‘re-charging the batteries’. We hope to do the same again this year – try it, you’ll just love it.

Winter at the cottage

We had a great weekend at Moon Shadow. The cottage is very well equipped, cozy and comfortable. The kids felt right at home and just enjoyed playing outside, tobogganing and exploring the property. Looking forward to heading out there again in summer.

We came over from the UK

We came over from the UK and stayed at the cottages this winter, the scenery from the frozen lake is really breath taking. I tried taking so many photos but its just something you have to see for yourselves.

We had a lot of fun tobogganing, ice skating and ice fishing on the lake and its so peaceful at night we felt right at home almost straight away.

The cottages themselves were really warm and cozy and I’d certainly love to see what they look like in the summer next time I visit.

Summer 2010

My friends and I stayed over for a long weekend towards the end of summer 2010 and had an awesome time. The lake was perfect and spent many an hour either sitting at the end of the dock or swimming in the clear water, and also liked how the lake was quiet and free of power boats. The cottage itself is perfect for a get away from the hectic day to day life, without losing any of the key amenities you require for comfort in this day and age. I would happily recommend this cottage to anyone and everyone
